「Academic Counseling service」

An academic counseling service is offered for high school applicants in Yamagata Prefecture. One of the roles of this service is to offer foreign nationals living in Yamagata prefecture or foreigners wishing to enter a senior high school in Yamagata information about schools (distinctive characteristics or layout, etc.) and see if the applicant's desires fit with the school's characteristics.

Another role of this service is to communicate and discuss with the school the applicant's relevant information, expectations, academic background, and experiences while living abroad.

Furthermore, based on this counseling, the principal of the school chosen may allow the applicant to write a Self-Recommendation Note to be used during the selection of new students.

Please use the Academic Counseling service.
As a general rule, students in junior high schools in Yamagata Prefecture will be told by their school's principal to use the Academic Counseling service if it is found necessary. Please contact a teacher at your school for details.
Please contact the Senior Education Section at the Yamagata Prefectural Education Center if you are not in a junior high school in Yamagata Prefecture.
