6. Guardians' Meeting for New Students
This meeting is held in February for guardians of children that will enter school in April. For students entering elementary school, this is a very important informational meeting. The following will be explained by the school's authorities: the school's outline, studies to be done before entering the school, school conduct, insurance policies of the Safety Mutual Association for injuries occurring outside of school, insurance policies of the National Agency for the Advancement of Sports and Health, and PTA member elections.
The meeting content may vary from school to school. Some schools will organize guardians to go with children of the same area back home from school. The schools will also distribute forms for ordering study materials and required goods like physical education uniforms and lunch uniforms. Some schools will also introduce representatives from designated stores that sell these goods. Please be sure to contact the school if it is impossible for you to be present on that day. Also, if you need an interpreter for the meeting, please make sure to let the school know.
